So driving home yesterday we were pulling into out alley and Alexis say's that Nolan from her class playing in front of a house right down the street from us. Not really sure if she is sure we parked the car and walked down (he was playing soccer in the front yard with his dad) and sure enough it was. They gave each other a big hug and started playing together. I asked how long they have lived there and they have been there about 3 years. It's amazing how many people never come out to the front of their houses so you never know who lives in your neighborhood. Alexis is thrilled to know that he lives right down the street. Abby however was not so happy as she didn't get to kick the ball around with them. :( Sucks being the little sister sometimes. We also learned they have a pool in their back yard! Summer time here we come. I also know there is another girl that lives somewhere on our street that is in 1st grade. We saw her riding her bike one day, but don't know which house is hers.
My next good news is I got a not in Alexis backpack that says,
"Your child scored a 97% or above on one or more areas of the CoGAT special abilities test. The second round of testing will be March 3rd. This will determine whether they are placed in the Gifted and Talented Program. " It is exciting to think she may have gotten my brothers smart genes. Lord knows they are not from me. But that's ok. After all we all want our kids to be amazing.
And last but now least, The girls have been signed up for Soccer this spring. They will start in Feb. Alexis has been asking for the past year to play and since we are not doing dance or gymnastics right now I went ahead and signed them up. It might be really good for them to be in a team sport. I can't wait to see how they do. Abby was sad however that she would not be playing with her sister, but I explained to her that she will be playing with other kids her age.
