Last Weekend - a little late

I'm finally getting around to posting about last weekend.
As you saw before Alexis had her 5 year birthday pictures done. Well our day started out with getting her hair done at the mall in a store called Sweet and Sassy. Then off to get pictures done. While we waited for the to print the pictures, I took Alexis back to the mall to have some lunch. Then off to find the candy store. While we were walking around the Sweet and Sassy employees told us that they were giving away free Limo rides today around the mall. Alexis really wanted to go, so off we went. I took some pictures with my phone since I actually didn't have my camera with me. :) She thought it was so cool. Once we got back we found the candy store and a shore store for me. lol Then back to the house. Alexis and I had such a wonderful afternoon together. What a difference it makes to have only one child at a time.

Saturday night I went dancing with some girl friends and had a blast. I could have danced all night, except my friends that were with me wore shoes that hurt their feet so we were home by 1:30 am.

Sunday was Fathers Day. Rodney had to cut the lawn (not much fun for him), but the girls gave him their little gifts they made at school. After naps we went to Nelda's to swim at the Beach Club by their house and then back to the house for a Fajita Dinner. Rodney didn't care to be in the sun again that day so Nelda and I took the girls. But first to give Rodney his Fathers day gift. A set of golf clubs. I think he was very surprised that I would get those for him since I have complained in the past about how much it costs to play and how much time you are gone to play. But I decided to do a very non-selfish thing and get them for him especially after all the money and time he has let me spend scrapbooking.

the Beach club was really cool. They had a splash play area, sand to play in and the water to swim in. the water is pretty shallow so it was quite warm, but over all the girls just loved it. It is about as close as we are going to get to a beach this year. I am hoping we can go back a few more times before summer is over.

Here are some pictures of our day, enjoy...

2 week Birthday Countdown

Well the 2 week countdown to Alexis' 5th birthday begins. Last weekend we went to get her 5 year pictures done. We bought some clip on earrings, a real tiara and got her hair done at the Sweet and Sassy store in the mall. Oh, and her nails were painted the night before. She was such a princess. And talk about last minute on the wand idea. On my way home from work on Friday (before I hosted a baby shower) I stopped at Hobby Lobby and bought the wood #5, the stick, paint and ribbon to try and make a #5 wand. It was painted after the baby shower and then put together in the morning before we had to leave for her hair appointment. It turned out just perfect. I was so happy. So if you click on the pictures below they will be full size on your screen.

Our crazy week...

Boy this week has started out crazy!!

Sunday night Alexis had a coughing outbreak and it was awful. Breathing treatments, cough medicine and cough lollipops were not helping at all. I had to hold her up in her bed so that she could try and get some sleep. It didn't help either when she coughed so hard around 1 am and threw up on the floor. Thank goodness for a carpet cleaner and daddy. Ewe!

Monday she stayed home and we went to the Dr. She is basically going to need to stay on an inhaler every day to try and avoid outbreaks like this.

Monday night the girls and I made a banana cake. They made sure to wear their chef hats and aprons. So cute. (sorry no pictures)
After we were done I got a call from a friend and we were supposed to meet them at McDonalds for dinner and to play. I totally forgot so we rushed out the door. Good thing we hadn't had dinner yet. Well we could have just gone to play.

Tuesday, I picked up the girls and went to two Dr. apts. One for me and one for Abby to the Allergist. Then off to the gym for my weight class that I haven't been to in two weeks.

Today, we are going swimming after school with some friends.

Thursday, back to the gym for another class (as long as I am not too sore from Tuesdays class).

Friday I am hosting a baby shower at the house.

Man...I'm tired and it is only Wednesday afternoon.

My little Artist

Wow...Alexis amazes me every day. She made this card all by herself and sounded out the words to right on it with no help at all. I think she did a great job. And what an artist she is too. The people are our family and she even included our dog Jade. On the back of the card she drew a picture of Rodney and I and Abby at the top. I am so proud of her.

The words read on this..."2008 June Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wendesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, From Alexis Abby Mom Dad I love you"

Here is the back side of the card..gotta love that Daddy is spelled "Dadaide"

And this was a bear that she drew herself, cut and colored it when the babysitter was at our house.

Video from last Friday

Here are the girls at their lesson last Friday. One more week to go.

Our Weekend

Once again a very busy weekend. Man am I tired and the next week is going to be busy as well. The house is a mess and one of these days it will get picked up. LOL

Friday night, after work swim lessons followed by an end of the school year picnic at a park with all the kids that are moving on to Kindergarten next year. We didn't get home until around 9:30 pm.

Saturday, Rodney had to work and I took the girls to gymnastics, followed by a birthday party at a pool. The girls had a blast showing off their new swimming skills. Abby is a regular water baby. She just kept on swimming to me. She is doing great with her kicking. Then Rodney and I went on a last minute date to see a movie and have dinner.

Sunday, I had a girls afternoon out (needed the break from the following week and from the week to come). Got to see a movie and have lunch with a girl friend. Then took the girls swimming again with some friends from school. Got home for baths and dinner and finally bed.

What a weekend again.
