Thanksgiving in Springfield, IL at Grandma's

We had an awesome time at Grandma's house for Thanksgiving. It was a quick trip and a very long drive. We left on Tuesday night, drove to Joplin, MO, stayed the night and then drove the rest of the way on Wednesday. We got to Grandma's around 3 pm. Not too bad. The girls did pretty good in the car. I think the hardest part was getting to the hotel at midnight and then having to go to sleep. These pictures are a little out of order, but instead of trying to take the time to fix them, I'm sure you will figure them out.

The girls went right to work raking up the leaves for the guests to arrive. Only they really raked them in a pile and started jumping in them. They had so much fun!

Helping Grandma put the centerpieces together..

The girls favorite thing to do with their Uncle Zach... He got a work out this trip.

Zach and his girlfriend Megan..Aren't they so cute together...

Uncle Bill and his crew stopped by for a quick visit. My cousin Bob's girls are just adorable. Perry (the baby) and Elle (the toddler), they have no idea what they are in for with the two girls. I wish them lots of luck. These days have been pretty hard lately at ages 5.5 and almost 4. UGH!

The whole group...

Then the second set of guests showed up later in the evening for Turkey sandwiches and dessert...Uncle John and crew

...

Grandma told the girls they could ride the horse and then wasn't sure they would get the chance. But Grandma's can't go back on their word. Mike came by to visit for a bit before we were on our way home and gave the girls a ride. They were in heaven. I love seeing them smile so big. This was the first time they got to ride without me and Alexis was super excited. And then they got to ride together. Even more fun. Thanks Mike and Grandma for a great ride around the house. Burr...it was getting cold and they were starting to call for snow.

On our way home we drove through some snow and thought the girls would be so disappointed that they didn't get to see it, however when we woke up in the morning it was snowing like crazy in Joplin, MO. The girls loved it and boy was it cold. They caught some snow with their tongues and ate it off the ground (ewe!) Their next question was if it was snowing at home. No such luck and thank goodness. I prefer not to have any snow. It just makes driving around a mess even though the kids love it.

The end of the trip was quite an adventure. About 2 hours from home Abby got sick in her car seat. OMG! It was every where and we were in the middle of no where. We had to quickly pull off the road. Get her out of the car in the very cold wind. Get her wiped down and changed as well. I think she ate too much and then got car
sick. Poor thing. Note to self. Next time have a bag ready.

Over all it was a quick and really great trip. Grandpa just loved seeing the girls and the girls loved seeing him. I hope we can make it up again very soon and hopefully stay a little longer.

11-21 Thanksgiving Feast at School

The kids were all so cute. Everyone brought food for the Thanksgiving Feast. I couldn't believe how much there was. Alexis was so excited that I could come to the party.

Alexis made a puppet show about the Mayflower and the Pilgrams. She made sure to perform the show for me. too cute.

11-7 Girl Scout Diva Night

Alexis is officially a Daisy Girl Scout. Her first big event was the Girl Scout Diva night. It stated at 6:30 and went until 11pm. Talk about late. We made it to about 10:30 and then had to head home. The girls were so adorable and had a blast. We started the night with pizza and then the events continued. We started going from room to room for different activities...

They got to make vests for their bears...

Hair and makeup...

The spa experience. The girls thought it was so funny to put cucumbers on their eyes. I am surprised they didn't go to sleep. They also got lotion and their nails painted.

And of course cookie decorating...

And last but not least a fashion show and dancing...

The girls had an amazing time! Alexis is loving being a girl scout.
