2nd Dance Class Thurday night

Here is a video from our second dance class. The girls are having such a good time. Hopefully they will continue to enjoy it.

This week has been so crazy. It would take up a whole page to type out the hell I have been through this week and everything that has gone wrong. All I can say is that I hope it gets better and Alexis' party goes smoothly.

Alexis b-day at School 6/26

So yesterday they had Alexis' birthday celebration at school. I was lucky enough to get to leave early from work to attend it. I made cupcakes and got the Bratz doll toppers for them. Alexis was so excited. Her teacher got her a little gift that was so sweet. She is going to really miss her when she starts Kindergarten in the Fall. They walk around the months on the floor and sign a song that goes like this...

First they start out saying the months starting on June so, "July, Aug, Sept, Nov, etc... then they sing a little song "the earth goes round the sun sha-la today Alexis is one", then she does it over and over until she gets to 5. At the end she blows out the candle (or more like flashlight since it is not a fire hazzard).

Last but not least she gets to share her cake with her friends.

Feeding the Ducks - Tues 6/24

So after school today, I blew off going to the gym and took the girls to feed the ducks. They had so much fun. I don't think that Abby understood that running toward the ducks will infact scare them away. LOL We didn't stay at the park long it was incredibly hot and we were all melting very quickly. :)

Oh, and a thanks to Aunt Julie for their outfits. they just love them.

Graduation

Look who graduated pre-school. I can't believe she is going to be 5 next week and then off to Kindergarten in August. She is growing up just way too fast for me. I miss my baby, but am excited for the next stage as well. I think loosing naps is going to be a major adjustment for all of us. I am not looking foward to an over tired child after I get home from work. She still takes naps every day. We will soon see.

Weekend in the Water - Saturday

So our weekend begins....Friday night I had bunko and WON! Woo Hoo. I will go months and months at a time and not win, but Friday night I won the pot for most bunko's (after a 4 way roll off) $30 and then we play a $3 game, and I won for the first time too $36!!!!!! that was great considering we just paid $500 on Friday for car repairs on Rodney’s truck.

Saturday, I ran errands while Rodney took the girls to gymnastics. Once we all got home I took the girls swimming at Doreen's and Tyler's apartment. We had the pool all to our self which was wonderful. The kids had a blast. Alexis is so excited that she can swim down now and touch my toes. Abby likes me to go under water and watch her swim to me.

After swimming, back home for naps then a bath. the girls had their first sleep over together at a friends house, Gabby & Gracie. They did great and had so much fun. I was a little nervous about Abby, but she surprised me. They said they played games, made popsicles, watched a movie and had popcorn. Finally going to sleep around 10 pm. The next morning they played outside and had a home cooked breakfast.

While they were busy at their sleep over, Rodney and I went to dinner (very quick because we were running late) and then off to see "STOMP" at the Fair Park Music Hall. Which we almost didn't make either due to a wreck on the highway and had to take a detour all the way around downtown. Luckily the show started a little late so we made it! The show was awesome! Then back home for some much needed kid free rest. :)

Weekend in the Water - Sunday

So, here's our Sunday...
Woke up to no kids in the house and got to sleep until 8 am. What a strange feeling. Got some laundry started and went to pick up the girls. After church the girls took their much needed nap we packed a picnic and headed to Jack Carter pool for some family fun. A lot of moms were there as well from my mom's group. It was nice to see everyone even though there was not much time for talking. These girls are water bugs now. They wanted to spend most of their time in the big pool so they could swim to us underwater. I am hoping to get my water digital camera soon so I can take some underwater pictures of them. Then back home to finish laundry and get ready for another week of work and school. The week ahead is going to be crazy.

Monday- Shop for food for the b-day party
Tuesday - Gym
Wednesday - Camera class (to learn how to use my new toy)
Thursday - Dance Class
Friday - pick up stuff for the party and start getting ready

And somewhere in this week the house has to be picked up. UGH!

Dance Class

Well we tried dance at 3 years old and Alexis just wasn't into it enough to justify the cost, so here we go again after she has asked me over and over about going back. She did great, other than playing with her ponytail quite a lot. Looks like we need a bun in her hair next time. Her teacher also said she was quite a chatterbox. LOL She is so happy to do dance again. Of course this Saturday we have gymnastics again. Abby did really good too. Not exactly a pro at some of the moves, but she gave it a good effort. When they had to sit down on the floor for some toe pointing exercises, she seemed to play with her shoes too much. All in all the girls had a blast and put their shoes back on at home to practice some more.

Last Weekend - a little late

I'm finally getting around to posting about last weekend.
As you saw before Alexis had her 5 year birthday pictures done. Well our day started out with getting her hair done at the mall in a store called Sweet and Sassy. Then off to get pictures done. While we waited for the to print the pictures, I took Alexis back to the mall to have some lunch. Then off to find the candy store. While we were walking around the Sweet and Sassy employees told us that they were giving away free Limo rides today around the mall. Alexis really wanted to go, so off we went. I took some pictures with my phone since I actually didn't have my camera with me. :) She thought it was so cool. Once we got back we found the candy store and a shore store for me. lol Then back to the house. Alexis and I had such a wonderful afternoon together. What a difference it makes to have only one child at a time.

Saturday night I went dancing with some girl friends and had a blast. I could have danced all night, except my friends that were with me wore shoes that hurt their feet so we were home by 1:30 am.

Sunday was Fathers Day. Rodney had to cut the lawn (not much fun for him), but the girls gave him their little gifts they made at school. After naps we went to Nelda's to swim at the Beach Club by their house and then back to the house for a Fajita Dinner. Rodney didn't care to be in the sun again that day so Nelda and I took the girls. But first to give Rodney his Fathers day gift. A set of golf clubs. I think he was very surprised that I would get those for him since I have complained in the past about how much it costs to play and how much time you are gone to play. But I decided to do a very non-selfish thing and get them for him especially after all the money and time he has let me spend scrapbooking.

the Beach club was really cool. They had a splash play area, sand to play in and the water to swim in. the water is pretty shallow so it was quite warm, but over all the girls just loved it. It is about as close as we are going to get to a beach this year. I am hoping we can go back a few more times before summer is over.

Here are some pictures of our day, enjoy...
