1st Year of Daisy's come to an End

So the girls decided for their end of the year party they wanted to have it at Sweet and Sassy. Even better the one by our house just opened in time for the party and we didn't have far to drive at all. We were the only party in the store and had it all to ourselves. It made it very special for them. They used the money they earned from the sale of the cookies to pay for it. They were just thrilled.

1st Girl Scout Campout

Well for the first campout we did a backyard campout. The girls had a blast. Some have never had a sleepover and some have never slept in a tent. A couple of mom's were worried that their daughters would want to go home and not spend the night, but leave it to us leaders to do such a good job that no one wanted to leave.

Getting the campfire started..

Setting up the tent...

Dinner time, roasting hotdogs on the fire

Playing simon says...

A game of leap frog....

And of course no campout is complete without Samores...Yummy!

Time for bed (of course they didn't actually go to sleep until 11:30). We fit all 9 girls in the tent with room for one leader. Stacie and I drew sticks and she won the opportunity to sleep with the girls. Only I don't think she got any sleep. She said the wiggled all night and one woke up wondering where she was. LOL The other leader and I slept in a seperate tent. I actually got some sleep.

The next morning. LOL The girls were up at 6:15 am and very loud so we had to move them into the house before we woke the neighborhood.

And our last activity was making situpons. Now we have something to sit on when we go to events.
I think the girls made some great memories from this trip. Alexis told me she thought we were just having a sleepover, but when she found out we were camping the in the back yard she was thrilled.

Visit to Grandma's

The girls were so excited to find out we were going to grandmas for a few days. Of course Alexis had to make sure we were flying this time. She can't stand the 11 hour drive and I don't blame her. Uncle Zach was down visiting his girl friend a few weeks before and was able to extend his stay to see us too. the girls just love him and his girl friend Megan.

Here we go. All set on the plane. My first time flying with both girls without Rodney to help me. I ended up carrying just about everything so we are going to invest in some backpacks with wheels for the next trip. Abby thought it was fun to go to the bathroom on the plane and visited it about 3 times. UGH! Alexis had issues with her ears popping on the way down and was screaming quite a bit. I just needed a bag to put over my head. I don't think the passengers cared for the outbursts.

Waiting for Uncle Zach to pick us up in St. Louis. We got in early.

We are here. Grandpa stopped by to drop off Aunt Janet for a quick visit before she headed back to CO. Abby just loves her Great Grandpa.

Showing Grandpa the "I Love You" sign and Grandpa trying to figure out how to do it too.
Right away the girls wanted to do their favoite chore while everyone arrived for a family dinner. Sweeping the barn.
Bob, Michelle, Elle, Perry and Heather arrived. Bubble fun for the girls.

Trying to catch bubbles with their tongue. Yuck.
Time to break the huge Pinata that grandma got from Uncle John. She filled it with a ton of stuff for the kids. they were so excited. Alexis has been asking for a pinata for her birthday. Now i don't have to get one. Thanks grandma.

She has quite a swing
The leg was the first to go.
Time for some grownups to give it a try.

Go Grandma...GO!

Now for a ride on the horse. This was Elle's first time so she got to go first.
Alexis and Abby are pros now. LOL

OK, I guess we really do look alike after seeing this picture. What a cutie she is.

Fun things you find around the yard.

Hanging out.

Fianlly Ice Cream Cake to celebrate everyones bithdays. Yummy!

After everyone left the girls got to water Grandmas garden. No veggies to pick yet.

Now watering each other. Boy was the water cold. Right from the well. Burr!!!!!! The water was freezing

Playing upstairs in Grandmas house.

The next day Zach, Megan and I took the girls to Knights Action Park. Uncle Zach paid for Alexis' admission as her Bithday gift. Alexis wrote Uncle Zach a thank you note when she got back from the park. My daughter is so smart.

The lazy River. the water was pretty cold but we got used to it.

The wave pool. The kiddie area. Alexis said it was "boring". But Abby loved it. It was just her size.
OMG...they told me there was no height requirement for this slide so the girls went down it. I waited to catch them at the bottom. I should have gone first to have known that it was way too fast for them. One time was enough when they came out crying and freaked out. Then I went and WOW was it ever fast.

Bumper boats. We got to shoot water at each other.

This ride will take your breath away. Zach and I went first and then Megan and Zach. Talk about screaming.
And of course the day wouldn't be complete without a meltdown.
Back to the wave pool.
My cuties...

We had a wonderful trip. Not nearly long enough. We got to eat a Capones before we left. Now I guess it is time to start a diet. I never eat healthy when we visit Grandma and family. LOL Thanks to Grandma we all had a WONDERFUL mini vacation! We miss her already.
