Exciting News for us...

So driving home yesterday we were pulling into out alley and Alexis say's that Nolan from her class playing in front of a house right down the street from us. Not really sure if she is sure we parked the car and walked down (he was playing soccer in the front yard with his dad) and sure enough it was. They gave each other a big hug and started playing together. I asked how long they have lived there and they have been there about 3 years. It's amazing how many people never come out to the front of their houses so you never know who lives in your neighborhood. Alexis is thrilled to know that he lives right down the street. Abby however was not so happy as she didn't get to kick the ball around with them. :( Sucks being the little sister sometimes. We also learned they have a pool in their back yard! Summer time here we come. I also know there is another girl that lives somewhere on our street that is in 1st grade. We saw her riding her bike one day, but don't know which house is hers.

My next good news is I got a not in Alexis backpack that says,
"Your child scored a 97% or above on one or more areas of the CoGAT special abilities test. The second round of testing will be March 3rd. This will determine whether they are placed in the Gifted and Talented Program. " It is exciting to think she may have gotten my brothers smart genes. Lord knows they are not from me. But that's ok. After all we all want our kids to be amazing.

And last but now least, The girls have been signed up for Soccer this spring. They will start in Feb. Alexis has been asking for the past year to play and since we are not doing dance or gymnastics right now I went ahead and signed them up. It might be really good for them to be in a team sport. I can't wait to see how they do. Abby was sad however that she would not be playing with her sister, but I explained to her that she will be playing with other kids her age.

12/27 Our Trip to DSW Shoes

Mom needed to get some shoes and since she does not have a DSW Shoes at home we just had to go shopping. The girls were having so much fun. First trying on just about every shoe they could find and then they discovered the hats and purses in the front of the store. Then they put on the best performances for the store. I really need to get Alexis into modeling, only I don't know where to start. These will surely make you smile.

Silly girls...

12/25 Christmas is here

Woo Hoo...Christmas is here. Uncle Zach got here on Sunday night and Alexis spent two days with him since the school was closed and I was at work. She was great for him. Although when we talked about him watching her he said if there were any problems he would just duck tape her to the wall. I said that was fine, but only if he used painters tape. And his response was "deal". LOL All completely a joke in case this gets into the wrong hands. Grandma Jo had quite a 12 hour adventure trying to get to Dallas. Flights being canceled due to the snow storm in Chicago, but she ended up flying out of St. Louis on another airline. But needless to say she got here before Tuesday night ended.

Off Uncle Zach, Grandma, I and the girls go to the Mall on Christmas Eve Day to ride the train as we do every year and then have a little lunch. The girls were very excited.

First Jade got a little Christmas bone from Doreen and Tyler. She was in heaven.

Lunch at the food court:

so cute..

That evening we went out to dinner at Snuffers (YUMMY) and then drove around to see some lights before getting home to open some gifts from the Abrams clan and Grandma Jo.

Grandma Jo wanted to get the girls a very special gift of a pearl necklace (and I got one too "thanks mom") for them to wear on special occasions. I think I will be holding on to them when they are not worn otherwise we may never see them again.

That Uncle Zach...and that is why he gets paid the big bucks..

Getting the cookies ready for Santa:

Christmas morning is here...The girls got us up and we let them open their stockings while everyone was slowly waking up to open the rest of the gifts.

The girls asked Santa for an easy bake oven and Little Pet Shop and Little Pony stuff. They must of done something right this year since Santa got it for them. I think for next year we are going to have to work on fighting with our sister a little less.

Daddy knew exactly what I would like..LOL

Getting Christmas Dinner together. We actually ended up running behind in the food prep since we just were enjoying the morning and didn't think about putting the huge ham in the oven. But that was ok, because all's well that ends well. :)

Nana Debra helping the girls with their new jewelry making kits...

Playing with our new toys..including the Wii. The girls are loving it. I can't believe how good they are at bowling.

Christmas turned out great. Tasha, Jason, Tyler and Oliver joined us as well for Christmas dinner. It was nice to have them spend the day with us. Dawana and the boys couldn't make it. One of them had a fever and was not feeling good at all. We will catch up with them later when everyone is better.

Nelda and family gave us all Movie gift cards for Christmas and also her assistance with babysitting so we could all go to the movies. We saw Yes Man, stopped for some fried pickles after and then Zach was off to the airport.

Mom's adventure home was just about as fun as it was to get here, but she made it home without having to spend the entire day at the airport. She will be back soon in Feb for when she and I go on our vacation to Cabo. I am so excited for the vacation with just her and I.

12/21 Nelda's annual Christmas Party

Seems that a lot of people missed it this year because they were off hunting. Rodney ended up leaving early. Seems he got the stomach bug that Alexis and I had earlier that week. Good thing it only lasts about a day and a half that way he will be all better before my family arrives for Christmas. The girls had a blast. Alexis got a Sponge Bob Operation game and Abby got a Barbie dress up set. I think they had the most fun walking on Nelda's treadmill. LOL

11/19 Our morning with Santa

This morning the girls and I took at trip to see the "real" Santa and his reindeer. It was so cool to see the reindeer. It was really nice and we didn't have to wait long at all. Thank goodness for that because it was quite chilly outside. The girls decided that they now want a Little Pet Shop set and a Little Pony play set on top of the Easy Bake oven. Alexis said one thing was not enough to ask for from Santa, but I assured her that mommy and daddy will also be getting them gifts. I think that eased her mind.

12/13 A Cindrella Birthday Party

Yes, yet another birthday party this weekend. This weekend has been insane, but what's new. Two sister that are the same ages as my girls and are friends with them from preschool had a combined birthday party this weekend and Cinderella was the host. How exciting for the girls. So they got all dressed up and when Cinderella arrived they were so excited. She told them stories, took them on a hunt, and put makeup on them. All the girls were just adorable.

12/13 Breakfast with Santa

This morning we had breakfast with Santa at the Zone in Frisco. It was pretty cool. The girls had been super excited since they have known about it since Thanksgiving. They had a buffet and then Santa's helpers came to our table and sang Rudolpf The Red Nose Reindeer. Doreen and Tyler joined us as well. After breakfast the kids got their faces painted, got to jump in the jump houses and slides, got a balloon dog and flower and last but not least they got to play some video games as well and win tickets. They made sure to tell Santa they want an easy bake oven for Christmas.
